Taiwan: Massive fire breaks out in a building, 46 killed
The death toll in a fire incident at a 13-storey building in southern Taiwan has risen to 46. About 51 people injured in this fire have been admitted to the hospital. Officials from the Kaohsiung City Fire Department said in a statement that the fire started around 3 AM and spread so fast that it engulfed a large area. Currently, firefighters are engaged in search and rescue operations. The fire in the lower floors has been extinguished. The reason of the fire breakout is yet to be ascertained. The 40 year old has shops on the ground floor and apartments on the top, according to local administration.
