European Union announces an aid package worth 1 Billion Euros for Afghanistan
The economic situation in Afghanistan has been deteriorating since the Taliban took control over the country. Amidst Afghanistan's falling economy, the European Union has now extended support to Taliban-ruled country. On Tuesday, the European Union announced that it would provide 1 billion euros aid package to Afghanistan. At the virtual G20 conference hosted by Italy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reiterated her resolve to continue helping humanity in Afghanistan. The aid package will be provided to those international organizations who are working for the welfare of the socio-economic condition in the country, improving the health system, migrant management and counter-terrorism.
