Uttarakhand Transport Minister Yashpal Arya and his son Mala Sanjeev quit BJP, join Congress

Ahead of the 2022 assembly elections in Uttarakhand, Transport Minister Yashpal Arya along with his son Nainital MLA Sanjeev Arya joined the Congress in New Delhi on Monday. Yashpal was the Social Welfare Minister and Transport Minister in the BJP-ruled Uttarakhand Government. Both the leaders joined the Congress in the presence of former CM Harish Rawat, state in-charge Devendra Yadav, Congress State Committee State President Ganesh Godiyal, National General Secretary-Organization KC Venugopal and National Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala. The father-son duo had left the Congress and joined the BJP in 2017. After which they registered victory in assembly elections.
